  1. The political chaos in the USA is frightening especially as it shows how the attitudes of the populace have become increasingly supportive of authoritarianism.

    When Trump was elected in 2016 I was thinking that I knew what it must have been like in 1933 Germany, and since then I too have grown more pessimistic and, if I’m honest about it, afraid.
